Louvre or Louvered Window or Jalousie window, is comprised of parallel slats of wood.

There are two types of slats: fixed slats or movable slats. In movable slats, these parallel slats can be opened and closed like venetian blinds. Louvre windows permit open ventilation whilst preserving privacy and preventing the passage of light to the interior. Louvre windows are used extensively in tropical architecture.
